My service didn’t end with the uniform. It continues here at home.

Since 2018, Bonnechere Valley has been the place my family proudly calls home. Growing up in the small communities of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley gave me a lifelong appreciation and understanding of rural living—its strengths, its challenges, and the importance of neighbours looking out for one another. When we first moved to Eganville, we never imagined it would become our forever home. Over time, we found something far more meaningful than just a house: a community that welcomed us, supported us, and quickly became home. It was the people, the volunteers, and the strong sense of community that convinced us this was where we wanted to put down roots and raise our family. Why this community matters to me As a mother of seven, I care deeply about the future of our community. I want Bonnechere Valley to remain a place where families choose to build their lives, where young people have opportunities to grow and succeed, and where residents feel connected, supported, and proud to call this community home—a place that, even when life takes us elsewhere, will always call us back. Service has always been an important part of my life. My background in law and service in the Canadian Armed Forces taught me the importance of integrity, accountability, and thoughtful decision-making—values I continue to carry into my community involvement today. My service didn’t end with the uniform. I continued here at home—through our schools, our soccer fields, 4-H, and our community. I’m ready to bring that same commitment to municipal council. Giving back to Bonnechere Valley Since moving here, I’ve been committed to giving back. I’ve served as a member, treasurer, and vice-chair of the St. James Catholic School Parent Council, volunteered with youth through 4-H and band, and had the privilege of taking on and running the Eganville Community Soccer program. Through soccer, I’ve worked alongside incredible volunteers and watched many local children develop confidence, friendships, leadership, and a love for community. Those experiences have shown me just how much can be accomplished when people come together with a shared purpose. I’m also a published author, creating practical resources that help individuals and families build resilience, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges. That work has reinforced a philosophy I also bring to public service: build on what already works, improve what doesn’t, and use the resources we have wisely. I don’t believe Bonnechere Valley needs to become something it isn’t. I believe we can preserve the character we value while making thoughtful improvements that strengthen our community for future generations. Why I’m running I’m running for council because I believe there are opportunities we can build on to make Bonnechere Valley even stronger. We deserve practical, transparent leadership that listens, collaborates, addresses the needs of today, plans responsibly for the future, and respects taxpayers. I want to help strengthen municipal services, create more opportunities for our youth, support responsible revitalization, and explore ways to sustainably grow tourism and attract people to our township—without compromising the rural character we value or our responsibility to protect our waterways and natural environment. Above all, I want Bonnechere Valley to continue being a place we’re proud to call home—and one families can afford to continue calling home. I believe the best ideas don’t come from one person—they come from listening to the people who live here. By working together with residents, volunteers, local businesses, community organizations, and neighbouring municipalities, we can protect what makes Bonnechere Valley special while thoughtfully building what’s next.
