Voting Information

Bonnechere Valley — Let's Talk Voting!

Election Day is getting closer, so I wanted to put some important voting information in one place.

VOTING DAY: MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2026

HOW DO WE VOTE?

Bonnechere Valley is using Vote by Mail for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.

Eligible voters will receive a voting package with their ballot and instructions for completing and returning it. I'll continue sharing important dates and information as the Township releases additional details.

NOT SURE IF YOU'RE ON THE VOTERS' LIST?

The deadline to make changes through the provincial online registration system has passed, but that does not mean you've lost your opportunity to vote!

If you need to confirm that you're on the list, register, or correct your information, contact the Township of Bonnechere Valley Municipal Office:

49 Bonnechere Street, Eganville 613-628-3101 Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Need some help figuring out the voters' list process or where to start? Please reach out! I'm happy to help you find the information you need or point you in the right direction.

WHY VOTE?

Municipal elections may not get the same attention as provincial or federal elections, but municipal decisions are often the ones we see and experience most directly.

Our roads. Recreation. Municipal services. Planning and development. Our downtown. How tax dollars are spent. How we protect the things we value while planning for what comes next.

You don't have to agree with me. You don't have to agree with every candidate—and you certainly don't have to agree with your neighbour.

But I hope you take some time to learn about the people asking to represent you. Ask us questions. Challenge our ideas. Tell us what's important to you. And then make the choice that you believe is right for Bonnechere Valley.

That's what local democracy is supposed to look like.

Whether your family has been here for generations or you've only recently decided to call Bonnechere Valley home, this is your community and your voice matters.

Watch for your voting package. Make sure your information is correct. And most importantly—use your vote.

Monday, October 26, 2026. Your community. Your choice. Your voice.

All-Candidates Forum

I'm looking forward to taking part in the upcoming Bonnechere Valley All-Candidates Forum, hosted by The Eganville Leader.

The forum will be held at the Eganville Legion Hall on Sunday, September 13, from 7:00–9:00 p.m.

Each candidate will have an opportunity to introduce themselves, speak about why they are seeking a position on Council, and share their vision and ideas for the future of Bonnechere Valley. Questions from residents will also be welcomed throughout the evening.

I hope to see you there. This is a great opportunity for residents to hear directly from the candidates, ask questions, and learn more about the choices on the ballot this October.

Official Candidates List Released

The official list of candidates for the 2026 municipal election has been released, and I'm proud to see my name among those putting themselves forward to serve Bonnechere Valley.

Running for Council is an opportunity I don't take lightly. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, shared a concern, offered an idea, or simply wished me well.

There is plenty of work ahead, and I'm excited to continue meeting residents and talking about both the now and the next of Bonnechere Valley.

Let's keep the conversation going.

Campaign

The Campaign Begins

With my paperwork filed, it's time to get to work.

Over the weeks ahead, I'll be connecting with residents across Bonnechere Valley, sharing more about my priorities, and — most importantly — listening to what matters to the people who call our community home.

Good decisions start with listening, and I'm looking forward to the conversations ahead.

Yours in community, Laura
